BENGALURU: A 15-year-old girl died after a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus ran over her at Bhattarahalli signal on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Lavyashree (15).
Priyadarshini (45) was riding a two-wheeler along with her two children around 7.30 am, to drop them off at school when the BMTC bus hit them from behind. Priyadarshini lost her balance and she and her son Yashwin fell on the left side of the road, while her daughter Lavyashree fell to the right and the bus ran over her. Lavyashree was immediately was taken to a hospital, but she died without responding to treatment. Priyadarshini and Yashwin were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
A case has been registered at K R Puram police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Division Traffic, Kala Krishnamurthy, visited the spot.
