BENGALURU: As many as 15 buses parked in the premises of a bus body building firm were burnt at Veerabhadranagar in the city today morning. Luckily, there was not loss of life.

About 25-35 buses were parked on the premses of SV Coach Works of which 15 caught fire. Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot to put out the massive blaze. However, due to the presence of tyres, plastic parts and other combustible material, the firefighters were finding it difficult to bring the fire under control.

Thick smoke engulfed the area and could be seen from far away. One of the workers said the fire first broke out in one bus around 11.30 am and even as they tried to douse it, the fire quickly spread to other vehicles parked in the garage. “There may have been a short circuit. There were about 50-60 buses and all of us escaped”, he said.
