BENGALURU: After days of sparring online and elsewhere, the state Congress has suddenly put a lid on the infighting. Both KPCC president D K Shivakumar and CLP leader Siddaramaiah are understood to have instructed their followers to keep matters quiet.

Interestingly, Shivakumar was even seen posing for cameras along with those who had raised their voices against him. The sudden change came about after the intervention of the party’s central leaders. The state leaders were told that a wrong message would go if the infighting continues at a time when the party senior leaders are meeting in Rajasthan for the Chintan Shivir.

Both Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah were told that if Ramya is not provoked, she too would quieten down. There should be no backbiting at a time when the Chintan Shivir is in focus at the national level, the AICC leaders suggested.

Following this, those who were sniping at each other are now making friendly appearances before cameras and matter are quiet in the state Congress unit, at least for now.
