Random tests for Covid-19 are conducted on international passengers at KIA.

BENGALURU: With random tests being conducted on international arrivals at the Kempegowda International Airport, all 120 samples collected on Thursday have returned negative.

The Health Department had conducted RT-PCR tests on 120 passengers arriving from different countries and none of them tested positive. However, the authorities are keeping them under watch to check if they develop any symptoms later.

So far, 22 international passengers have tested positive for Covid-19 at the airport and are in home isolation. Meanwhile, the BBMP and the Health Department is awaiting the genome sequencing report of 12 of these passengers, which is expected on Saturday.
