BALLARI: A 10th century manganese scripture has been found near the Bandi Basaveshwara temple on the banks of the Narihalli in Sandur taluk.

The scripture depicts the Sun, Moon, Shivalinga and stars and is about 10 feet tall. There are also about six lines of text referring to Daiva Aradhana. The sculpture was found by Vijayanagar researcheer Dr Thippeswamy, Dr Krishna Gowda and team.
