BENGALURU: Vijayapura BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has been expelled from the party for six years for repeated violation of party discipline. The Central Disciplinary Committee cited his failure to adhere to party discipline despite multiple warnings.
The BJP High Command took this decision as Yatnal failed to respond properly to the show-cause notice issued by the disciplinary committee. This decision has come into effect immediately.
The BJP disciplinary committee had issued two notices. Despite this, Yatnal repeatedly engaged in anti-party activities and violated party discipline. Finally, on February 10, Yatnal responded to the show-cause notice. However, the central disciplinary committee, which did not agree with the explanation and deemed the clarification as unsatisfactory, on Wednesday took the decision to expel Yatnal from the party for a period of six years.
