KOLAR: Ten-year-old V Sushant from Bangarpet has won the gold medal in kumite at 2nd inter-state open karate championship held at the indoor stadium here.
Sushant, the son of Venkatachalapathy and Chaitra, residents of Gullahalli, is Class 5 student at the Jain Global School in Bangarpet. His father has retired from the defence forces.
Sushant also won the third spot in the Kata event in the U10 category. Earlier too, he had won the third place in Shito-Ryu karate championship held at Chennai.
About 25 teams including 550 participants from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu took part in the event.
