CHAMARAJANAGAR: Close on the heels of the heels of the shootout in the Cauvery wildlife sanctuary and anti-poaching camps being blown up, miscreants set fire to 10 acres of forest near Shilubepura in Kollegal taluk. One anti-poaching camp near Jageri was also destroyed.

Officials of Male Mahadeshwara wildlife sanctuary are in panic as gelatin and dynamite placed and blasted in anti-poaching camps. It is likely that the Anti Naxal Force will visit the area to inspect the anti-poaching camps. Police are also collecting information about the incident.

Meanwhile, following the shootout incident in the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, a case has been registered against one person at the Hanur police station for obstructing the police from discharging their duty during protest. The accused has been booked for assaulting and shouting at Police Inspector Anand Murthy and obstructing duty during bandobast duty.
In a related development, two guns used to shoot three people was handed over by Forest officials to the police along with live cartridges to the Hanur police. ACF Mariswamy said Forest officers also gave information to the police on how many bullets were fired.
