BENGALURU: The Basaveshwara Nagar police have arrested a delivery agent who assaulted a customer over a single-digit error in the address. The accused, identified as Vishnuvaradhan, had attacked customer Shashank.
During interrogation, the accused claimed that when he went to deliver an order, the address mentioned was a neighbouring house. He questioned the woman about the incorrect address, and Shashank intervened, getting into an altercation with him. In a fit of anger, he assaulted Shashank.
Following the incident, delivery company Zepto has apologised to its customer for the alleged attack. The customer Shashank suffered injuries near his eye and loss of vision. Upon consultation by doctors, Shashank has been advised to have surgery.
The bone below his eye broke due to the hard punches. The doctor said he needs to get checked again, and if it doesn’t heal properly, surgery might be required. Shashank requests that the company concerned and the police should ensure justice to him.
