Zebra gives birth to calf at BBP

BENGALURU: Every day, thousands of tourists visit the Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru and it has gained popularity at the national level. Now, a new guest has arrived at the park, bringing cheer to animal lovers.

A zebra recently gave birth to a calf at the Bannerghatta Biological Park and it is now attracting tourists with its small steps and antics. The zebra named Kabini gave birth to a calf, born to Harishchandra. Kabini, who is 3 to 4-year-old, conceived and gave birth to baby zebra for the first time.

With the addition of this calf, the total number of zebras in the zoo has increased to seven. Both the mother and baby zebras are healthy and are being looked after with the utmost care by the park’s veterinary team and staff in the park.

Surya Sen, Executive Officer of Bannerghatta Biological Park, said that tourists can see the baby zebra in a few days, along with the mother in the park.

The caretakers are looking after them with special care and are giving them fruit bunches, which are rich in nutrients, to enhance breast milk. Besides, tourists will enjoy the activities of the calf, which will be the centre of attraction for animal lovers.

The BBP is gaining popularity day by day and has become one of the favourite tourist destinations. The zebra calf is expected to draw more visitors to the biological park.
