YouTuber arrested for threatening bakery owners in Bengaluru

The YouTuber was arrested after a complaint was filed against him.

BENGALURU: A YouTuber who was extorting money from bakery owners with the threat of reporting them to the BBMP for not maintaining cleanliness has been arrested by the police.

The YouTuber Shafi from Bommanahalli had allegedly threatened about 50 bakery owners and demanded Rs 50,000 from them. He had claimed that they were not maintaining hygiene and cleanliness and threatened to complain to the BBMP and get their trade licences cancelled.

Shafi, who runs the Prajapara YouTube channel, had visited a bakery run by Ramesh near the DLF apartment complex at Akshay Nagar in Hulimavu and demanded Rs 10,000. His act was captured on CCTV camera. Based on a complaint withe the Hulimavu police, shafi was arrested.
