Youths gets into brawl with hotel staff over not being served food, arrested

BENGALURU: A group of youths, who had consumed alcohol at a friend’s birthday party, thrashed the staff of a hotel in Electronics City police limits for refusing to serve them food after closing hours.

The incident occurred on the night of November 21 and the police have arrestes seven persons in this connection based on a complaint from the restaurant manager Imran Khan and are on the lookout for a few more people who were involved.

The youths got into a fight with the hotel staff.

A group of 8-10 youths, who had attended a friend’s birthday party at Hebbagodi, went to The Village Restaurant in Neeladri Nagar around 11.30 pm and asked to be served food. The hotel staff told them that it was closing time and the last order was at 11 pm and that they couldn’t be served.

Angered by this, the drunk youths thrashed the hotel staff. It is being speculated that the son of a political leader was also among the group of youths.

The incident was caught on CCTV camera.

The arrested youths have been identified as Shankar of Roopena Agrahara, Keerthi of Gattihalli, Abhishek of Garvebhavipalya, Praveen Kumar of Somasundarapalya, Hemanth Kumar of Lakkasandra, Abhishek of Bandepalya and Abhilash of Kudlu. Deputy Commissioner of Police C K Baba said all those involved in the case will be arrested.

During questioning, they claimed that the hotel staff were speaking in Hindi, which they couldn’t understand. “At that time there was some pushing and jostling. We did not assault anyone”, they claimed.
