KOLAR: A youth who went to meet his girlfriend at a medical college hostel for women, dressed in a burqa, was caught and handed over to the Gudipalli police near Kuppam in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
The youth works as a cook in Bengaluru and the woman, who hails from Kerala, is a second-year nursing student at the PES Institute of Medical Sciences in Kuppam. They had met in Kerala two years ago and had fallen in love.
The youth arrived in Kuppam by train from Bengaluru on Tuesday evening and went to the college hostel to meet his girlfriend. He was wearing a burqa to hide his identity, but when the hostel staff got suspicious and checked, they came to know the person in the burqa was a man.
The hostel authorities immediately alerted the Gudipalli police who visited the hostel and took the youth into custody. Based on a complaint from hostel staffer Arun Kumar, the police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
