BENGALURU: A youth brutally thrashed a dog to death at Vidyaranyapura in Bengaluru, allegedly because it caught his chicken. The accused is Manoj Kumar, a neighbour of the dog owner.

The dog was tied up in a shed. The neighbour alleged that Manoj Kumar came inside the compound, dragged out the dog from the shed and thrashed it on its head with a stick on November 24 last year. The dog suffered severe injuries to the head and died three days later.

The incident came to light when the dog’s owner checked the CCTV footage as he got suspicious about the injuries on its head. The CCTV camera captured the brutal attack, and an investigation revealed that the youth attacked the dog, claiming it had bitten his chicken.

A person named Tarun Agarwal complained to the city police about the brutal attack on the dog and shared CCTV footage on X and tagged it to @AntiCrueltyCell, @BlrCityPolice, @DCPNEBCP, @CPBlr, and @vidyaranyapurps. The X user sought justice for the dog and a stop to such animal cruelty.
