BENGALURU: A youth was beaten up with a cane by the bedding shop owner after he asked for his pending salary. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred at a shop in Subramanyapura’s Utharahalli.

Sharif, a native of Andhra Pradesh, was working at a mattress sewing shop in Utharahalli owned by Sheikh Shah Wali. Sharif had come to Bengaluru from Andhra Pradesh to work at the shop.

The reason behind the incident is said to be a dispute over salary. Sharif had demanded higher wages, but Shah Wali paid him less. Then, he left the job and joined another place. When Sharif asked for his pending wages, Shah Wali allegedly humiliated him. On July 24, Shah Wali barged into the shop where Sharif recently joined for work and assaulted him.

The incident was recorded on a mobile phone and  the video has now gone viral. A case has been registered at the Subramanyapura police station based on Sharif’s complaint.
