BALLARI: A youth died after he drowned while attempting to take a selfie at an overflowing lake near Gandabommanahalli in Kudligi taluk. The deceased was identified as Chetan Kumar (21).
After the heavy rain last week, the lake had started to overflow. Chetan had gone to the lake to click a selfie, but slipped and fell where the lake was overflowing and was washed away.
Some locals immediately rushed to Chetan’s rescue, but he did not survive. Kudligi MLA Srinivas offered his condolences to the bereaved family.
