BENGALURU: A youth riding a two-wheeler fell into a ditch on Rajkumar Road in front of Cafe Coffee Day, dug up by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), around 1:30 am on June 8 and suffered serious injuries. He is now battling for his life.

The accident was caused by a poorly maintained road dug by the BBMP. The injured Manjunath B G (28) is currently admitted to the intensive care unit at a private hospital where he is in critical condition.

An FIR has been filed at the Rajajinagar traffic police station based on a complaint lodged by Manjunath’s father, Ganesh, alleging negligence on the part of BBMP officials, BWSSB and the contractor, and he also submitted a complaint to the BBMP Commissioner.

The complaint states that the BBMP’s failure to take precautionary measures alongside the roadwork led to the accident.
