CHIKKAMAGALUR: A 25-year-old youth, who had gone for a swim in the Bhadra river near Gadigeshwara close to Balehonnur in NR Pura taluk, drowned after he got caught in a whirlpool on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Jalal.
Jalal had gone for a swim in the river along with two other friends. But they could not save him as he got caught in a whirpool. A search was carried out till Sunday evening, but Jalal could not be locatad.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel, along with expert divers, resumed the search on Monday. The incident occurred in Balehonnur police limits.
