BENGALURU: A youth fell prey to a AI-generated woman’s charm and lost over Rs 1.5 lakh. The police are now on the lookout for the fraudsters.
The youth had created a profile on a dating app called Happn and received a friend request from a woman named Ishani. They shared their mobile numbers and chatted about personal matters.
A few days ago, he received a video call from Ishani, who was naked during the call. She asked him to undress, and he obliged. The scammers recorded the video and later blackmailed him, sending him nude photos and demanding money. They extracted Rs 1.53 lakh from him in installments.
When they asked for more money, the youth filed a complaint with the police. Preliminary investigation reveals the involvement of an AI-generated woman. The police have registered a case and are searching for the accused.
