BENGALURU: A 24-year-old woman was brutally murdered by a youth, who slit her throat in her room at a paying guest accommodation at VR Layout in Koramangala on Tuesday night. The deceased woman was identified as Kriti Kumari, a native of Bihar who was working with a private company.
The accused has not yet been identified. According to police sources, the accused entered the women’s PG at 11.10 pm on Tuesday with a knife and killed the woman in her room on the third floor around 11:30 pm. The victim died on the spot.
The Koramangala police visited the PG accommodation and collected evidence. Southeast division Deputy Commissioner of Police Sara Fatima also visited the crime scene.
The accused is still at large, and the police are trying to identify him with the help of CCTV footage. The PG owners’ negligence is being cited as the main reason for the incident.
It is suspected that the crime was committed by someone known to the victim. A case has been registered at the Koramangala police station and further investigation is under way.
