BALLARI: A 16-year-old youth escaped from the jaws of death after he was attacked by a crocodile in the Tungabhadra river at Sanapura village in Kampli taluk on Wednesday. The victim is now undergoing treatment at a hospital for injuries.
Vedamurthy (16) had got into the river for a swim when he was suddenly attacked by a crocodile. He sustained injuries on his left arm and chest. When Vedamurthy screamed for help, another youth, Veeresh, rushed to his aid and rescued him by pelting stones at the crocodile.
The injured Vedamurthy was rushed to a private hospital in Gangavathi. The Kampli police visited the spot and have registered a case.
