YADGIR: A youth assaulted some elderly persons for objecting to smoking in a park at Hosahalli Cross here on Tuesday.
Two unidentified youths were smoking in the park when some elderly men present there told them that people come for walks in the park and not to smoke there. Angered by this, one of the youths angrily retorted that he would smoke there itself and even assaulted some of them.
Though some of the people tried to convince the youths, they would not budge. Locals complained that frequent disturbances are happening in the locality over trivial reasons and have demanded that the police start patrolling the area.
