Youth assaulted for raising slogans against PM Modi

BENGALURU: A drunken youth was assaulted by a group of four to five members for allegedly raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A video of the assault has gone viral on social media. The incident is said to have occurred near Majestic bus stand on Sunday night.

In the video, a group of people can be seen beating up a young man, asking him to chant ‘Modi’ name and warning him not to speak against the Prime Minister. “If you are a follower of Siddaramaiah, leave it at home”, they can be heard saying. The incident took place in Upparapet police station limits.

The unidentified youth, who was allegedly drunk, made some remarks against PM Modi following which he was attacked by a group of people.

Then, some people took him to Majestic police station outpost, but they let him off without filing a case, citing that he was drunk. However, after the video went viral on social media, the Upparpet police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
