BENGALURU: A young couple who were to get married in a few days were found dead in a bathroom. Police suspect that they may have died due to leakage of poisonous gas from gas geyser. The incident occurred last Saturday, but has come to light only now.
The deceased have been identified as Sudharani from Gokak taluk in Belagavi and Chandrashekhar from Gundlupet taluk in Chamarajanagar district. A case has been registered at Chikkajala police station in this regard.
The couple, who were working at the Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa near Nandi Hills, were preparing to get married. On June 10, Sudharani came to Chandrasekhar’s residence in Tarabanahalli in the evening. At night, both went into the bathroom to take a shower and switched on the gas geyser. The windows and door of the bathroom were locked.
The house owner to Chandrashekhar’s residence as he got suspicious that the doors and windows were closed when Chandrasekhar was usually at home on Sunday mornings. When the house owner broke open the door, the two were found lying on the floor.
Police suspect that the duo died on the spot due to inhalation of poisonous gas (carbon monoxide) from the gas geyser and fell unconscious.
