CHIKKODI: Vijayapura City BJP MLA Basanagouda R Patil Yatnal has hit out at senior leader B S Yediyurappa over BJP’s defeat in all three assembly bypols on Saturday and said, “Yediyurappa’s love for his son has led to BJP’s defeat. The high command should have a serious discussion about this”.

“People have rejected Vijayendra’s leadership. If he has any self-respect, he should resign. If Vijayendra is ashamed of this defeat, he should not continue as BJP state president. It’s unfortunate that Bharat Bommai’s lost in Shiggaon. People have chosen a rowdy as their leader. The people’s verdict indicates that the BJP leadership needs to change. New leadership is necessary for the state and the BJP. People will teach a lesson to the Congress party in the general elections”, Yatnal said.

“It’s unfortunate that Nikhil Kumaraswamy lost. I had told BJP leaders to offer ticket to CP Yogeshwar. Yogeshwar had supported and was interested in the BJP till the end. People saw Yogeshwar’s hard work and elected him. Kumaraswamy should think ahead and organise the party. At least BJP national president J P Nadda and other senior leaders should open their eyes”, he said.

Regarding Waqf land, Yatnal said the fight for Waqf land has just begun. “We will create awareness in every district. If Congress wins next time, farmers will lose their land. A delegation will visit the high command to complain against Vijayendra. This is what happens if Vijayendra and Yediyurappa are appointed to party posts”, he said. Yatnal also said that he will speak to the BJP high command about the father-son duo.
