BENGALURU: Former chief minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa, and son and state party president B Y Vijayendra, shared the stage with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the inauguration of a private hospital in Bengaluru on Friday.

Following the programme Yediyurappa immediately nudged his son Vijayendra to meet Amit Shah, following which Vijayendra had a separate conversation with the Union Home Minister. This development has raised many eyebrows with questions being raised over whether this an exercise to gain Amit Shah’s trust, or whether it was a forced conversation.

Yediyurappa, who stood by his son amidst the rebellion from party leaders, had a 15-minute conversation with Amit Shah. Yediyurappa also submitted a report to Amit Shah on the current situation of the state BJP. There is also speculation that the two discussed the issue of the state party leadership and Lingayat leadership.

The Former CM brought to Shah’s attention that the rebels are trying to create division within the leaders of the Lingayat community. Yediyurappa, who is trying hard to ensure the continuation of his son’s leadership and secure his position, seems to have sent a big message to the rebel group through his conversation with Amit Shah that top leader is still with him.
