TUMAKURU: A mobile phone thief was caught red-handed by some women at the maternity ward of the district government hospital on Monday night.
The mobile thief was targeting the mobile phones of attendants of in-patients when some women raised an alarm. Other people too joined in, caught the mobile thief and handed him over to the police.
Many complained that repeated incidents of mobile phone theft have occurred in the maternity ward as there is no security personnel deployed. They also said that the CCTV cameras are not working and vented their anger at the hospital management for the lax security.
