Women fight over seat in bus, video goes viral

BIDAR: After the Shakti free travel scheme for women was introduced in the state, there have been several instances of women getting into fights over occupying seats. In a recent such incident, two women engaged in heated altercations, pulling clothes and hitting each other with footwear over occupying a seat on a KKRTC bus. A video of the fight has since gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred on a KKRTC bus plying between Bidar and Kalaburagi. In the video, a woman passenger is seen asking another woman to vacate a seat while the latter would not budge. The woman occupying the seat can also be heard questioning, “What will you do if I do not leave the seat?” Then, suddently, an uproar started on the bus.

As the commotion escalated, one of the women took off her footwear and hit the other woman. After this, the woman who got assaulted with a sandal started tugging at the clothes of the former. The bus was not moving and neither the driver nor the conductor were on board at that time.

The video quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism.
