YADGIR: In a shocking case, a woman was allegedly tortured by a group of 11 people, who shaved her head, applied lime and chilli powder on her body, and stripped her naked, at Chamanala thanda in Shahapur taluk. The incident occurred on August 16, but came to light only now.
The woman, aged 35, was allegedly tortured by the group of people who accused her of having an illicit relationship with a man named Anil Rathod, who was said to be taking her to her aunt’s house in Kalaburagi.
The woman was allegedly beaten, stripped naked and subjected to other forms of torture. The accused also allegedly threatened to kill her. A case has been registered against 11 people at the Kembhavi police station, and two people, Kasturibai and Dakappa, have been arrested so far. The other nine accused are still absconding, and the police are on the lookout for them.
