BENGALURU: Techie Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, accused of murdering his wife, Gouri Anil Sambrekar, has been arrested by Pune police. It is reported that Rakesh consumed poison and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Pune.




On Wednesday night, Rakesh and Gauri had a fight over work-related issues. Gauri threw a knife at Rakesh, and in fit of rage, Rakesh killed her using the same knife. He then cut her stomach and neck and stuffed her body into a suitcase. Rakesh also switched off Gauri’s mobile phone and had dinner at home. Later, at 11 pm, he planned to dispose of the body, but was unsuccessful. He then kept the body in the bathroom and fled to Pune.
Accused Rakesh had consumed poison and collapsed in the premises of the Shirwal police station in Pune before surrendering. Later, the police admitted him to the Sassoon hospital in Pune where he is receiving treatment. It is expected that the accused will be brought to Bengaluru today. It is learned that the Pune police have recorded the statement of the accused.

A team from Hulimavu police station has left for Pune to get the custody of accused Rakesh. The police have tightened security around the house where the murder took place.
