BENGALURU: A 29-year-old woman was found murdered, her body cut into 30 pieces and stacked in a fridge, at Vinayakanagar in Vyalikaval area, on Saturday. Local residents informed the police after foul smell started coming out of the rented house.
The deceased woman body has been identified as Mahalakhmi, who worked at Mantri Mall on Sampige Road. The accused allegedly killed the victim, chopped her body into over 30 pieces, and stored them in a fridge. The police suspect the murder happened 4-5 days ago.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shekhar Tekkan and Vyalikaval police visited the crime scene and sealed the area. The accused is yet to be arrested.
Poilice closed road leading to the house to prevent the people from crowding. As soon as public came to know that there was a murder, a large number of people started gatheringout of curiosity.
According to the neighbours, a married couple living in the rental house for three months. But they did know much about their whereabouts.
Satish Kumar, Additional Police Commissioner, said, “The couple was living in a 1-BHK house in Vinayaknagar. The murder happened 4-5 days ago. The FSL team is arriving. Fingerprint squad and dog squad have already arrived. The couple were from another state, but settled in Karnataka. More details will be known after the investigation”.
