DHARWAD: A Dharwad-based woman, who returned from Australia just four days ago, committed suicide by jumping into the Malaprabha river in Belagavi. Prior to her death, the woman wrote a death note and sent it through courier in which she has blamed Australian laws as the reason for her death.

The deceased Priyadarshini, committed suicide as she could not get justice due to the rigid laws while she was in Australia. Her son was suffering from health issues but could not get proper treatment. Instead of recovery from the disease, there was fluctuation in his health status.

Priyadarshini filed a complaint regarding the hospital’s failure to take care of her son and had even started a legal battle over this. But she apparently took the extreme step as her complaint was not considered. Her family members have now decided to approach the Australian government through the Indian government.

Priyadarshini has two children who were born in Australia and have Australian citizenship. She returned to India last Sunday from Australia and had couriered all her luggage home that day itself. But she did not come home and committed suicide by jumping into the Malaprabha river. Later, her body was found near Goravankolla village in Belagavi district.
