HASSAN: A newlywed woman, who had got married just six months ago, was found dead under suspicious circumstances near a railway track in Arasikere on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Vidya, a resident of Channagiri taluk in Davanagere district. She was married to Shivu, a police officer, and the couple lived in Shankarpuram, Bengaluru.
Vidya went missing on June 30, and a missing person’s complaint was filed at the Shankarpuram police station. Her body was found near the railway track in Arasikere on Tuesday.
Vidya’s family alleged that her husband and in-laws had been harassing her since the time of their marriage and claimed that they might have murdered her. A case has been registered by the Arasikere railway police.
