MYSURU: A woman and her son died on the spot after their two-wheeler crashed into a high-end car on the bridge across the Cauvery river near Bannur in T Narsipur taluk on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Parvathi (48) and Shankar (21).
The mother-son were residents of BM Sri Nagar in Mysuru and were returning home after visiting a temple when the accident occurred. Due to the impact, the woman fell off the bridge into the river while the son died on the spot. Rescuers were deployed to look for the woman.
The Bannur police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation after registering a case.
