CHIKKAMAGALUR: A village leader was slapped and beaten with a stick by a woman over non-payment of money for participating in a roadshow. The angry woman took the village leader, identified as Manju, to task even as other villagers got into a scuffle.
Manju had taken the villagers of Piramenahalli in Tarikere taluk to participate in the roadshows of BJP candidate Suresh and Independent candidate Gopikrishna. After participating in the roadshow on Thursday when Gopikrishna submitted his nomination papers, the villagers were allegedly not given money.
An argument broke out between some villagers over non-payment of money for participating in the roadshow when the woman slapped Manju as other villagers a scuffle.
