BENGALURU: A woman, who had sold her girl child for Rs 2.5 lakh, has now approached the DJ Halli police seeking custody of her daughter. She allegedly lodged a complaint after utilising the money.
In her complaint, Naseema Begum, a resident of Vinoba Nagar, noted that she is married to Dastagir for the last 15 years and the couple had three children — two sons and a daughter. In July, she gave birth to their fourth daughter at Gosha Hospital in Shivajinagar.
Naseema Begum claimed that as they were in need of money at that time, she sold the newborn girl child for Rs 2.5 lakh to Amuda, Ramya and Kannan. Based on her complaint, the police are conducting further investigations.
