CHIKKABALLAPUR: A woman died after she was run over by a truck when she fell from her scooter while trying to avoid a stray dog in Doddaballapur on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Nandini (28).
The woman, along with a child, was going on her scooter when a dog suddenly cut her way near the Kongadiappa College. Nandini fell from the scooter while attempting to avoid hitting the dog and was run over by a truck which dragged her along with the scooter for some distance.
Nandini sustained serious head injuries, but the child was safe. Locals immediately rushed the injured woman in an autorickshaw to the government hospital, but Nandini did not respond to treatment and died.
The Doddaballapur Rural police have registered a case and seized the truck.
