The woman claimed she sells petrol, biscuits and other items at her small shop.

MYSURU: A beneficiary of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme left Nanjangud MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan stunned when she claimed that she uses the money to sell petrol at her shop, apart from other items.

The guarantee implementation committe of Nanjangud taluk had organised a meeting of Gruha Lakshmi scheme beneficiaries at Hullahalli village on Friday. The event was presided over by MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan.

When it was her turn to speak, the woman from Indiranagar village said she runs a small shop and she invests the Gruha Lakshmi dole to buy things to sell at her shop, including biscuits and petrol. “We run the shop for our livelihood and we are sending our children to school. I buy items for the shop including biscuit and petrol”, she said.

Earlier, Darshan Dhruvanarayan, while addressing the gathering, said there is a lot of misinformation about the guarantee schemes that there is no funds for their implementation.
