RAICHUR: A woman died after she was run over by a KKRTC bus at the Sindhanur bus stand in Raichur district on Monday. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the bus hitting the woman at the main entrance of the bus stand.
The victim, Dodda Eeramma (38), from Koppa’s Bevinahala village, was crossing the road when the accident occurred. The bus driver is alleged to have been negligent. A case has been registered at Sindhanur traffic police station.
In another accident, a head-on collision between two lorries near K Hanchinal Camp in Sindhanur taluk, claimed the life of the driver of one of the lorries. Sheik Abdul Rahim (23) died in hospital while undergoing treatment.
Three others, including drivers Anjaneya, Virupaksha and Karibasappa, are seriously injured. A bike rider who was standing nearby miraculously escaped unhurt.
The accident occurred when a lorry from Sindhanur collided with another carrying milk from Karatagi. The injured have been hospitalised, and a case has been registered at Sindhanur Rural police station.
