BAGALKOT: A woman police sub-inspector won a million hearts after she let got of a college student who was riding triples on a motorcycle during a routine traffic check. The incident occurred in Ilkal town and a video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Police sub-inspector S R Nayak stopped three youths riding on a motorcycle and fined them for breaking rules. One of the boys broke down and told the officer the money was meant to be paid towards his college fee. He told the officer that he would be scolded at home if he revealed to his parents that the money was paid towards the fine.
Taken by the boy’s plight, the police sub-inspector gave him a motherly hug, pacified him and returned the money. The officer has warned parents not to allow their underage children to use vehicles.
