MANGALURU: A woman died after she accidentally fell through the door of a moving bus in Mani of Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada district on January 31. The incident has come to light only now.
The deceased has been identified as Radha (66), a resident of Uppinangady in Puttur taluk. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the bus.
Radha was sitting in the second row behind the driver when a woman passenger, along with a child, boarded the bus. On seeing the child, Radha gave her seat to the other woman.
Radha standing in the aisle, holding on to the overhead handrail near the door. Momentarily, she took her had off the handrail, lost her balance and fell out of the bus, much to the shock of the other passengers.
Radha, who was seriously injured in the incident, died later at a hospital without responding to treatment. A case has been registered at the Vitla police station against the bus driver and conductor in connection with the incident.
