BENGALURU: A woman had allegedly given a Rs 10 lakh contract (supari) to eliminate her former husband. The police are now on the lookout for eight people in connection with the case.

Sandhya Soora had allegedly contacted one Mansoor to kill her former husband Praveen Konda. Mansoor barged into Praveen’s house and told him that his first wife was willing for a compromise and wanted to meet him. She would even withdraw all the cases against him, Mansoor told Praveen.

Mansoor then took Praveen to a house in Chamundi Nagar in RT Nagar area and locked up Praveen. He then called up Sandhya and told her that he would eliminate Praveen. With the help of his associates, he then threatened Praveen with a dagger, kidnapped him in a car and headed towards Ramanagara.

Mansoor then told Praveen that his ex-wife had given him a contract for Rs 10 lakh to kill him and offered to release him unharmed if he paid up Rs 15 lakh. Praveen then contacted his second wife and somehow arranged to pay Mansoor a total of Rs 2.75 lakh through PhonePay. Mansoor and his associates also took away the gold jewellery on Praveen’s person, his mobile phone and car.

Praveen later lodged a complaint with the RT Nagar police against Sandhya, her father and six others. The police have now launched a manhunt for the accused.
