Woman murdered in Indi town over alleged immoral relationship

The woman was stabbed near the Indi bus stand early on Wednesday.

VIJAYAPURA: A woman working as a clerk in the Social Welfare Department was brutally murdered at Tippu Sultan Circle at Indira Nagar in Indi of Vijayapura district over an alleged immoral relationship, said a police official.

According to the police, “The deceased has been identified as Renuka Saibanna Kannolli (30), who was working in a government department in Indi. She was killed by the accused, Sanju Banasode, while she was heading to work early on Wednesday morning”.

Renuka, who sustained serious injuries in the attack, was immediately rushed to the district hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment due to excessive bleeding. Family members said she would travel from their home in Kotnal village to Indi every day.

Following the incident, police personnel visited the scene and inspected the area. The incident under the jurisdiction of the Indi Town police station. (ANI)
