Woman murdered by paramour by slitting throat, accused arrested in 5 hours

KOLAR: A woman who was into money lending and allegedly had an illicit affair, was killed by her paramour by slitting her throat at Palya village in Srinivaspura taluk on Monday night. The deceased is Roopa (34), wife of Srirama Reddy. The accused was nabbed within five hours of committing the murder.

Roopa was said to be in an illegal relationship with Anand to whom she had also lent some money. When Roopa was grazing her cattle at a mango orchard on Monday, Anand accosted her and an argument ensued over some issue. Anand allegedly slit Roopa’s throat and fled, but he was apprehended by the Srinivaspura police in five hours after committing the crime.

Police Superintendent Nikhil B visited the crime scene on Monday night. The Srinivaspura police have taken up further investigation.
