BENGALURU: A woman was brutally killed and her body stuffed into a sack, which was then dumped into a garbage truck near a skating ground in Channammanakere police station limits. The incident sent shock waves through the city.
The police have registered a case and suspect that the woman may have been raped before being murdered. The incident took place late on Saturday night when the miscreants brought the woman’s body in an autorickshaw and dumped it into the garbage truck before fleeing the scene.
Joint Commissioner of Police Vamsi Krishna said that an individual who came to throw garbage near the skating ground between 1 am and 3 am on Sunday discovered the sack with human hair sticking out. Upon opening the sack, the woman’s body was found, and the police were immediately informed by the truck driver.
The police have reviewed CCTV footage and found that a person had brought the sack in an autorickshaw and dumped it into the garbage truck. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are searching for the perpetrator.
The woman is believed to be aged around 25-30 years old and her identity is yet to be confirmed. The hands and legs were tied. A murder case has been registered, said the joint police commissioner.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. The woman was wearing an Urban Company T-shirt and pants, but her inner garment was missing, which has raised suspicions of rape.
