BENGALURU: A woman who was living in PG accommodation in Konanakunte was found dead, and police suspect her partner’s role in the suspicious death.
The deceased has been identified as Hemavathi, a resident of Kothanur, who had been running an accommodation and was also financially well-off. Later, she met a man named Sharavan at the same time and as days passed, Sharavan, who was talking to her in a friendly manner, became very close to Hemavati.
She had recently borrowed money from Sharavana. However, he had been pestering her to return the borrowed money. On the night of the incident, Sharavana had come to Hemavathi’s house, and the two had a heated altercation between them.
The argument continued until late at night, but things seemed to have settled down by morning. However, by dawn, Hemavathi was found dead in a suspicious condition; she had hanged herself in her room. Sharavana, who was with her, claimed to have no knowledge of what had happened during the night.
When police investigated the scene, they found several injury marks on Hemavathi’s body, including her neck. The police grew suspicious of Sharavana and took Sharavana into custody for questioning. They also detained another person named Girish.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Lokesh said that preliminary investigations revealed that Sharavana and Girish might have been involved in Hemavathi’s murder. The police are waiting for the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. The police are investigating the case and are trying to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Hemavathi’s death.
