BENGALURU: A leopard attacked a woman during a safari ride at the Bannerghatta National Park on the outskirts of the city on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred when the safari vehicle stopped to provide a closer look at the animal.

Bhanu (50), a Chennai native, was with her husband and son when the leopard jumped on to the safari vehicle operated by KSTDC and attacked her hand when she was looking out of the open window.

The leopard suddenly jumped on to the bus, causing panic among the tourists. The leopard attempted to enter the vehicle through the window, but fortunately, the tourists were safe due to the mesh windows.

The injured woman was rushed to Vijayashri Hospital in Jigani for treatment. This isn’t the first such incident at Bannerghatta National Park. A similar incident occurred earlier where a leopard leaped on to a safari bus, frightening tourists a few years ago.
