BALLARI: A woman, who had been hospitalised after consuming contaminated water and later discharged, died on Tuesday night after suffering a stroke at Manyara Masalawada in Hoovina Hadagali taluk of Vijayanagar district. The deceased was identified as Huligemma (65).
Last week, more than15 people had taken ill at Manyara Masalawada after consuming contaminated water. The patients had complained of vomiting and diarrhoea. Huligemma had been admitted to the government hospital at Hoovina Hadagali and later discharged from there.
She was then shifted to a hospital in Gadag where she died after suffering a stroke while undergoing treatment on Tuesday night. The Hoovina Hadagali police have registered a case.
