BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested Yashaswini, a history-sheeter, in connection with the kidnapping of businessman Manoj, who had lent money to film director Nandakishore.
The CCB had previously arrested several people, including Bakery Raghu, Rajesh and Venkatesh in connection with the case. Yashaswini had allegedly obstructed the police during the arrest of Bakery Raghu in Mandya, leading to an FIR being filed against her.
The police had been searching for Yashaswini in connection with a case under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act (KCOCA). She was arrested near Puttanahalli and has been sent to jail.

“On August 28, a kidnap case had been registered at the CCB police station based on a complaint from Manoj Kumar. So far, we have arrested 13 people, who have been sent to judicial custody. Yashaswini Gowda had given shelter to the prime accused in the case and aided in his escape. One more accused is absconding in the case and will be arrested soon”, DCP Sriharibabu B L said on Friday.
“After collecting evidence against her, we arrested her near Puttenahalli. So far, about 10 cases have been registered against Yashaswini and three are at the trial stage. We will invoke KCOCA against all the accused”, the DCP added.
