VIJAYAPURA: A woman was found dead with a saree tied around her neck and legs while her husband was found hanging in a farm field at Geddalamari village in Muddebihal taluk.
The bodies of Siddappa Hanamanaal and his wife Megha Siddappa, were discovered in a farm by villagers. Megha’s mother has allegedly that Siddappa strangled his wife to death and then committed suicide.
Siddappa had married Megha eight years ago. However, their domestic life was marred by constant quarrels. Despite reconciliation efforts, the situation only worsened.
Megha’s mother, Gaddemma Hosamani, has accused Siddappa’s family members of the murder. She claims that Siddappa’s mother Shantamma and brother Sreekanth had been harassing the couple. The couple had four children, who are now orphaned.
A case has been registered at the Muddebihal police station. The bodies have been sent to a private hospital in Vijayapura for a post-mortem.
The police are investigating the matter, and more details are expected to emerge soon. DySP Balanna Nandagavi and Muddebihal police officials visited the spot and conducted an investigation.
